Overview

As a Legal Advisor - based in Hong Kong, you will play a vital role within the leadership team advising and integrating your legal expertise, business acumen and strategic values within the many facets of the business. 

You will manage and advise on legal and compliance matters that arise within business operations, management activities and/or business dealings related to the Company and it’s subsidiaries/branch offices.  Partake in business developments, client meetings etc and work alongside the leadership team or third party in reviewing deals, investments or projects. In addition, you will also drive the contractual management process as well as compliance and legal administrative matters within the organization.

Responsibilities:  

• To manage and advice on legal and compliance matters that arise within business operations, management activities and/or business dealings related to the Company and it’s subsidiaries/branch office
• To draft, review and negotiate various types of contracts such as, e.g. non-disclosure agreement, supplier agreement, manufacturing agreements, distribution agreements, the  sales-agent agreements, licensing agreements, joint ventures, memorandum, letters of intents etc.
• To advise and participate in business development deals, client meetings etc
• Review investments and projects, and identify/discuss legal risks to Management
• To support, implement and  ensure compliance of contractual agreements, trade related controls and other business matters with Management
• To work alongside designated third party legal vendor  such as, e.g. preparing IP and trademark applications, finalizing deals etc
• To work alongside and share corporate secretarial accountabilities with the CFO / Financial Director
• Monitor compliance and legal administrative matters within the company, including implementing and enforcing compliance or statutory guidelines, policies and practices

Requirements / Qualifications 

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 3 years post-qualified experience
  
• Experience in corporate law specialized in M&A, compliance and contractual managements with a reputable law firm or as an in-house legal advisor
  
• Local and international exposure would be advantageous
  
• Must have an entrepreneurial streak with sound strong business acumen, sound understanding of business drivers with a keen passion to ‘be part’ of a business’s growth and development from legal and strategic perspective
