Job Description

FACILITIES MANAGEMENT OFFICE

Assistant Facilities Manager (Ref. 19030411-E2)

Duties

The appointee will report to the Senior Facilities Manager in the Client Services Section and be required to:

(a)    supervise a multi-disciplinary team of technical and front-line staff;

(b)    provide one-stop client-focused facilities management services to the University;

(c)    assist in achieving strategic objectives and goals, and formulate guidelines and operational procedures to facilitate effective operation and efficient deployment of resources;

(d)    plan, organize, co-ordinate and supervise in-house staff, facilities management services providers and contractors for the provision of facilities management services as well as repair and maintenance services to the University;

(e)    perform shift duties including working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when necessary; and

(f)    handle any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a recognised degree in Facility Management, Property Management or a related discipline;

(b)    at least five years of relevant experience at supervisory level in managing a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and operational staff in collaboration with clients, services contractors and other stakeholders;

(c)    excellent communication skills for working with both internal and external stakeholders;

(d)    good customer service mindset as well as leadership and interpersonal skills; and

(e)    a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Preference will be given to those applicants who have relevant professional qualification such as HKIS, RICS, HKIH, CIH, etc. and a good knowledge of relevant statutory regulations.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
