Our client Points.COM is looking for a Regional Director, Partnerships to join Points Business Development team in a permanent position based in the NEW Singapore office. THE CANDIDATE We are looking for a Regional Director, Partnerships for Points’ new Singapore office to support their growth in the Asia-Pacific region. Our successful candidate will work in a matrix organization with a multi-disciplinary team (marketing, business development, product management, account management and decision sciences). You will have responsibility for strategy and planning across the Asia-Pacific region to grow existing partnerships and identify new opportunities. You will assist in hiring local resources and work with teams in the Canadian Headquarters to establish and execute against annual revenue and gross profit targets for the region.

Reporting to the Director Partnerships in Toronto you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and growing strong business relationships with Points’ Partners, particularly at Senior (Director and above) levels
  • Confidently leading internal and external meetings, including quarterly updates, to a senior audience on a regular basis
  • Owning and maintaining a Strategic Plan for the Partners within your portfolio
  • Becoming a “trusted advisor” for Points’ partners and central component of their Partner’s strategic planning process
  • Cross-selling existing products and services that align to the goals of the Partners
  • Leading and inspiring a direct and cross functional team to deliver consistently exceptional service and value to their Partners
  • Leveraging strong people leadership skills to support the recruiting and development of local talent
  • Strong entrepreneurial skills including ability to “start up” a new office in a new regional area
  • Understanding and influence the adoption of industry best practices by their Partners
  • Taking the initiative in addressing technical and/or product knowledge gaps on behalf of the team and your Partners

 YOUR BACKGROUND

  • Minimum 10 years in a client management / business development role
  • 7+ years managing and developing a team
  • Proven negotiation skills and business development successes (meeting / exceeding sales targets) is essential
  • Excellent analytical skills are required to support the business case for the adoption of new ideas
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are essential to lead meetings and earn the trust and respect of senior leaders within the Partners
  • Passion for customer service and willingness to engage in tactical activities to get the work done
  • Strong level of comfort participating in technical conversations and summarizing information in a clear, concise manner for non-technical clients
  • Fluency in English (Cantonese and/or Japanese an asset)
  • Preference will be given to candidates with loyalty program and airline industry experience
  • Role requires extensive travel:
  1. to Points’ Toronto Headquarters (approx. 3-4 consecutive weeks of training shortly after start date, thereafter approx. 3 times annually of 1-2 weeks each time)
  2. within APAC, visiting the largest and most strategic Partners quarterly and other Partners 1-2 times annually
  • Familiarity with online marketing best practices
  • Strong business acumen and financial planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a portfolio of business
  • Experience working for a global organization is preferred
  • Post Secondary Degree (MBA/Post Graduate preferred)
