Work in the innovation and development team to Kitchen Appliance in Hong Kong.

South China Kitchen Appliance Innovation & Development aims to increase the capacity in Engineering by expanding the competencies in heating related products.

Lead Engineer(Team Lead), Development Engineering, contributes to Philips Kitchen Appliances New Product Development team and supports the Architect, particularly in transferring the project from Philips to OEM/ODM supplier, collaborating and ensuring that the product concept is correctly translated into detail design specifications, tooling and off-tool parts whilst meeting the requirements defined by the development team.

The role is part of Philips Innovation & Development, stationed in our Philips office in Hong Kong.

You are responsible for

• Generally supporting project Engineering Architect in development of new products in Kitchen Appliances according to the Philips Product Development process and in an OEM relationship with manufacturing suppliers.
• In a concept stage, support Architect and wider team in developing product design, perform technical analysis, define requirements and product specifications.
• In a detail design stage, support Architect in transferring technical specifications to supplier and play a leading role in collaborating with their engineering team to review design and ensure that product- and technical requirements meet Philips standard.
• In an off-tool stage, support Philips process engineer and supplier team to ensure part sample measurement are collected correctly according to critical dimensions. Analyze data, implement and document design changes.
• Ongoing engineering documentation to high standard; Product Specifications, dFMEA, dimension and tolerance control table updates & all PDLM Engineering deliverables
• Lead Engineering Development team to ensure robust design (DFSS) to fulfill quality, reliability, safety and meet all the product system requirement.

Report to Engineering Leader, Hong Kong Science Park office.

Inside the organization the Development Engineer has contacts with the project team, Mechanical Engineer, Product Research, Product Quality, Supplier Development, CMM, Design.

Outside contacts are the relevant or impacted business community, OEM, ODM, EMS, Design House.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 8 years experience in Kitchen heating appliances.
• Strong Electronic (with mechanical) knowledge background in Kitchen heating appliances design.
• Good skills in dFMEA, VoC-to-CTQ flowdown, statistical analysis according to basic Six Sigma tools.
• Excellent experience electronic hardware/software design.
• Documentation in English using Microsoft Office suite.
