Job Description

Come work at the world’s most respected gemological laboratory as a temporary HR Assistant in our GIA Hong Kong Laboratory located in Central Hong Kong. This position provides clerical, administrative and human resources support to the Human Resources Manager, GIA HK and Laboratory Director, GIA HK as well as GIA Corporate Headquarters Human Resources department by performing the following duties.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for background check duties
  • Provides support in new employees onboarding process, induction program and off-boarding process.
  • Maintains maximum confidentially and privacy on employee welfare and personnel matters.
  • Gathers and reports employee personnel matters or employee relations issues to the Human Resources Manager at the earliest possible time through the phone, e-mail, or weekly meetings.
  • Schedules meetings and candidate interviews as requested from time to time.
  • Organizes and coordinates company events such as Christmas Party, Annual Dinner and company outing.
  • Performs other ad-hoc HR projects and duties as required.
  • Communicates effectively, gets along with coworkers and management, and deals with others effectively and professionally under pressure.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to speak with various individuals, employees, colleagues and GIA clients over the phone in a professional manner and in person.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills and excellent multi-tasking skills required.
  • Must be dependable, well organized, mature and be able to take direction and work independently.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Ability to get along with a diverse group of individuals in Hong Kong and other international locations.
