Job Description

OFFICE OF FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

Clerk (Ref. 19031901-E)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) provide clerical support to academic programmes, student records, registration, examination and research matter;

(b) provide clerical and logistics support to the organization of activities and events;

(c) handle enquiries, manage the reception counter and assist in general office management;

(d) provide support to meetings and committees, including refreshment service and room setting;

(e) receive and dispatch office mail and documents within and outside the campus;

(f) perform manual labour work; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Faculty or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have five passes in HKCEE including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A; Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese Language (Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards) and Mathematics; or a combination of results in five HKDSE subjects of Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / "Attained" in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E in Other Language subjects, and the five subjects must include English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics;

(b) have proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office software and Chinese word processing;

(c) have good teamwork and interpersonal skills;

(d) have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;

(e) be pleasant and have a positive attitude in customer services; and

(f) be willing to work outside normal office hours when necessary.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a computer test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
