Job Description
The opportunity
Inframation is the world’s leading provider of news, analysis and research to the infrastructure finance industry.
Established in November 2014, our Asia news platform has reached a critical point in its rapid regional expansion. We now have an opening for a talented media professional to join our reporting team, charged with assisting the Editor and Deputy Editor in managing the flow of news and feature copy on our fast-paced news desk.
Our Asian reporting team delivers scoops and timely analysis on the trading of billion-dollar ports, airports and utilities, capital markets deals for new mega-projects, and is charting the rise of the region’s booming power and renewables sectors.
Infrastructure finance sits at the nexus of both the public and private sectors, meaning our reporters and editors must constantly grapple with the complexities of both capital structures as well as government and regulation.
We are seeking an energetic and tenacious financial journalist with prior experience in news editing who has a sound understanding of corporate finance and how capital markets work.
Initially, the role will involve editing news copy for the Inframation Asia daily online news bulletin. Over time there is potential to for the Assistant Editor to take on news diary planning, feature scheduling and commissioning freelance assignments. The role may also involve covering breaking news events as and when required.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will be passionate about breaking news, have sound judgement and critical thinking ability, be able to process complex information in short time frames and have a scrupulous attention to detail.
Requirements:
- A minimum of three years’ financial journalism experience
- Experience editing news copy
- You thrive when working in a fast-paced environment
- An ability to stay calm under pressure while meeting tight deadlines
- Solid news judgement and ability to prioritise multiple tasks
If this sounds like you, please email your CV and covering letter to Kate Burgess, Asia Editor by clicking "Apply Now".
Personal data will be used for recruitment purpose only.
