Job Description

 Job Purpose:

“To create and deliver new, engaging and exciting digital experiences across lanecrawford.com in line with the Lane Crawford brand to create the most engaging and connected online shopping experience”

 

Content Design

  • Deliver a unique feel and point of view on fashion, beauty and lifestyle for Lane Crawford digital presence (English and Chinese) that is fresh, distinct and easily recognizable by visitors and customers, driving brand engagement and ultimately sales
  • Generate ideas with the Content team to communicate weekly Editorial stories with clarity
  • Take a holistic approach in concepts to maximize the use of created assets across available online communication channels (site, social media, emails…) as well as potential multichannel applications
  • Work with templates and initiate new and improved layouts and interaction
  • Implement excellent layout and typography skills aligning all design elements
  • Prepare all designs to be development ready, ensuring developers are clear on delivery and expectation (layout, devices, animations/transitions etc.)
  • Strong participation in image sourcing for designs, either through paid content or contacts

 

Site and Digital Platform Design

  • Develop and frame creative concepts according to creative/product brief requirements and have a strong understanding of communication objectives
  • Demonstrate a user centric approach from concepts to wireframes/mock up and prototyping / delivery
  • Design new pages, concepts and functional features to be development ready, ensuring developers are clear on delivery and expectation (layout, devices, animations/transitions etc.)
  • Implement and maintain guidelines on styles and layout to support design activities
  • Take a holistic approach in concepts and visual user interface designs to maximize the use of created assets across available online communication channels (site, social media, emails…) as well as potential multichannel applications
  • Support weekly production of emails and other designed collateral
  • Work on designing and producing creative assets

 

Planning and Communication

  • Work closely with other digital and print designers, content production and content writers to ensure artwork is connected and on brand.
  • Work with Brand Creative to develop concepts for projects and programmes in line with commercial and brand requirements
  • Work with technology and design team on responsive design for tablet and mobile
  • Ensure timely delivery of all creative, design and web pages output within daily and weekly schedules as agreed with digital production team
  • Request enhancements to site functionalities that will support design activities
  • Put processes in place to ensure pages are tested and functional across multiple browsers and devices before being published with particular attention on China particularities
  • Follow a design brief and brand identity standards
  • Understand creative vision of Lane Crawford as advised by Brand Creative team
  • Actively respond to fluctuating business needs
  • Champion design concept feasibility on the web accounting for China particularities (IE6), devices (mobile & tablet)

 

Design Trends and Best Practices

  • Explore creativity and innovation for the technical delivery of designs and interactions working  with web developer as well as usability and tech teams

 

Job Requirements

  • 8 years’ experience within a design studio or in-house environment focused on digital projects and/or UI/UX initiatives
  • Degree in design or graphic design-related field
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Mastery of Mac computers and MacOS/iOS
  • Web development skills, understanding of digital design and its requirements
  • Video and photography technology/platform familiarity a plus
  • Can work cooperatively as part of a team – and also independently
  • Confidence in communication to build effective relationships with internal & external parties
  • A positive, hands-on attitude, able to work within tight deadlines
  • Superior attention to detail and with a proven ability to remain task focused
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese. Mandarin would be an advantage.
