Job Summary:  

The Assistant Vice President & Pricing Actuary will provide actuarial pricing support to various underwriting departments.

Job Duties:

• Under moderate supervision, provide Actuarial Pricing support to various underwriting departments
• Support all lines of insurance written from the Hong Kong office
• Provide pricing indications for individual large accounts
• Research and update various pricing parameters used within our pricing models such as increased limits factors, loss trend factors, underlying loss costs per unit of exposure, etc.
• Work closely with underwriters to assure proper use of the pricing models and to improve the usability and accuracy of the pricing models
• Supervise, develop and mentor more junior actuarial staff
• Any other duties as assigned by manager

Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience as an actuary, preferably in commercial property and casualty insurance or reinsurance
• Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society or of another well-established actuarial organization
• Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics or related field
• Strong Excel and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) skills
• Strong SAS skills
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to problem solve with incomplete information
• Ability to learn quickly
• Strong ethics and integrity
• Ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner
• Highly skilled at dealing with concepts and complexities comfortable
• Fluent in English
