FINANCE OFFICE

Assistant Purchasing Manager (Insurance Unit) (Ref. 19031906-IE)

Duties

The appointee will assist the Associate Director of Finance (Purchasing) in overseeing the University’s insurance matters and contract administration of catering and other campus-wide facilities.  He/She will be required to:

(a) manage all insurance matters and contract administration for the provision of catering and other campus-wide facilities in a timely and efficient manner;

(b) assist in the development of risk management strategy for the properties and other risk exposure of the University;

(c) provide administration and secretarial support to related committees;

(d) liaise with and handle enquiries from internal departments, students, brokers, external organisations, and other stakeholders on insurance and other contract administration matters;

(e) ensure the proper maintenance of records on insurance, catering and other campus-wide facilities;

(f) supervise subordinates and provide them with ongoing training, mentoring, guidance, and support for their career development; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree in a relevant field, preferably in Insurance;

(b) at least five years of administrative and supevisory experience in insurance administration and/or other related areas;

(c) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, and good communication skills; and

(d) good interpersonal and leadership ability to work effectively with other members of the Finance Office and supervise his/her subordinates.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test. 

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
