Department of Social Work

The Department invites job applications under the project “Development and evaluation of the effectiveness of an online cognitive behavioral intervention program for Hong Kong people with social anxiety disorder”. The project aims at developing an online counselling programme to help Hong Kong adults with social anxiety disorder to improve their mental health. A study will also be conducted to evaluate the programme effectiveness.

The appointee will provide support to the Project Coordinator. Duties include:

(a) Assisting in preparation of programme materials;
(b) Promoting the project;
(c) Recruiting participants;
(d) Collecting data;
(e) Arranging meetings for the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators;
(f) Coordinating the video-production work; and
(g) Performing other administrative and logistic work as assigned.

Applicants should (i) be a degree holder (preferably a Master's degree) in social sciences (social work, counseling, psychology, or psychiatric nursing preferred); (ii) possess some relevant work experience in practice and/or research; (iii) have excellent writing and communication skills in both Chinese and English; (iv) be innovative and proactive when working with a team.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one to two years commencing July 2019. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
