Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • assist in a research project on transnational families in Hong Kong;
  • collect statistical data, conduct literature searches and prepare reviews;
  • organise and co-ordinate fieldwork data collection;
  • conduct qualitative interviews;
  • translate, transcribe and analyze fieldwork data;
  • consolidate research materials and draft reports; and
  • perform administrative support of the project and any other duties as assigned by the project leader.

 
Applicants should:

  • possess at least a recognized Master’s degree preferably in Sociology or Social Policy or related disciplines and have two or more years of research/relevant work experience; postgraduate students are particularly welcome to apply;
  • have experience in qualitative research;
  • have a high proficiency in English including an ability to research and write in English;
  • have the ability to read Chinese and speak Cantonese and translate Chinese to English;
  • have excellent organizational and analytical skills;
  • be willing to work outside normal working hours; and
  • be able to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility and meet strict deadlines.
