Department of Computer Science and Engineering
The KEEP (http://www.keep.edu.hk) and the VeriGuide (http://www.veriguide.org) are projects that provide online resources to support faculty teaching and student learning needs. The Department is looking for Computer Assistant II(s) who have passion for education and communication to help share KEEP’s vision and mission with Hong Kong and the world.

Computer Assistant II(s) (Web Developer / Front end / CSS / Semantic UI / JavaScript / Bootstrap / HTML)

The appointee(s) will be involved in using the latest software development methodologies to (a) develop the core products that make KEEP relevant; and (b) work on an innovative product called VeriGuide, a plagiarism detection system. Front-end experience is important for improving the user experience and system scalability.

Applicants should have (i) completed secondary education; (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B), OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, “Attained” or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; (iii) some education or training in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines; (iv) good analytical, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, and creativity; (v) the ability to work independently, as a team member and on multiple projects; (vi) a good command of web development, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Semantic UI, Bootstrap, MVC, or other languages/frameworks; and (vii) familiarity with various operating system environments, including Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, etc. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply, as long as he/she is motivated to learn in a dynamic environment.

Appointment will initially be made on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
