The incumbent is responsible for strategically planning, managing and executing Orbis’s fundraising events (e.g. the flagship Moonwalkers, Walk for Sight, Carnival and etc.) and merchandise sales; exploring opportunities to improve the existing events and developing new initiatives in a timely and cost-effective manner to ensure that maximum funds are raised.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop and manage budget for assigned events and merchandise sales so that they are executed within the designated budget parameters;
2. Manage vendors and contractors to deliver high quality events or merchandise items;
3. Develop manpower plans and logistics plans for all fundraising events and merchandise sales;
4. Plan and implement logistical arrangements, including but not limited to license/permit application, venue booking, food and beverages, transportation, work schedule, staffing, decorations, audio-visual setup and merchandising;
5. Initiate innovative ideas and make recommendations to improve the existing fundraising events;
6. Determine the parameters, protocols and procedures of all fundraising activities and events to uphold their standard;
7. Prepare financial and evaluation reports on all fundraising events and merchandise sales;
8. Develop plans to explore new revenue opportunities;
9. Coordinate with other teams to discuss best practices and share ideas in order to achieve the targeted fundraising results;
10. Manage and empower staff effectively to achieve the goals.

REQUIREMENTS

• University graduate preferably in event management, business administration, or equivalent;
• At least 10 years' solid experience in large scale outdoor event / campaign management and organization, with no less than 5 years as managerial role
• Proven experience in managing complex events simultaneously
• Strong event management and organization skills with the ability to manage different vendors efficiently
• Strategic thinking and pro-active planning abilities, multi-tasking and attention to details
• Ability to maintain professional maturity and composure under stressful and emergent situations
• Ability to take calculated risks
• Strong leadership and presentation skills
• Proficiency in written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese 
• Computer literate and with knowledge in artwork design and printing
