We are hiring a Senior Associate/Associate in Hong Kong

Finsbury is seeking a Senior Associate or Associate to join our global strategic communication firm. You will be working across various local and international accounts with experienced and seasoned PR practitioners in the region. Our daily work covers various practice areas, such as reputation management and development; strategic positioning through integrated corporate communications, thought leadership campaigns and influencer engagement, as well as IPO and M&A transactions, internal and change communications, crisis mandates as well as CSR-related work and digital media strategies. As our new colleague you will play an integral role in building and developing communications strategies in these areas in support of some of the world’s most high-profile companies.

Responsibilities

Devising and implementing communications strategies and programs

• Developing messaging materials for communications collaterals (key messages, proposals, presentations, scripts, press releases, Q&A etc.)
• Researching, news monitoring, press analysis and summaries
• Staying on top of daily newsflow and major stories in wider market; monitoring, analyzing and summarizing newsflow. Conducting of press and online/social media searches

Forging productive relationships with clients and press

• Account Management duties – support management and execution of strategy, providing ongoing counsel and support to clients
• Media relations – understanding of the broad media landscape, pitching stories and responding to in-coming calls
• Co-ordination of events overseeing production of communications collaterals
• Creation of meeting briefs, biographies, analysis and summaries producing thorough and intelligent research

New Business

• Researching for new business opportunities
• Developing and shaping content; presenting at pitches
• Establishing and deepening wider industry relationships and building own network

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL DEMONSTRATE

Necessary Attributes and skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese
• Exceptional academic background (preferably in business, finance or communications)
• Financial literacy an advantage
• Efficiency at MS Office
• One to five years of relevant industry experience i.e. in Public Relations
• Demonstrable interest and understanding of business environment and current affairs, including awareness of the developments in and opportunities around digital and social media
• Good understanding of how the financial community operates
• Able to build strong relationships; commands the confidence of others internally & externally
• Independent, analytical, clear and creative thinking
• Be driven / proactive and entrepreneurial, goes beyond the expected, spots opportunities and innovates
• Deadline and details oriented; able to work under time pressure
• Organised, efficient, adaptable and accountable
• A real team player
• Trusted to work with confidential information

Five day working in Central. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a written assessment and interview.

The amount of experience, skill set and results throughout our interview process of a candidate will determine whether the Associate or Senior Associate position is appropriate.
