Head of Commercial Strategy

Hong Kong Based

Fast Growing Luxury Collections of Hotels & Serviced Apartments

 

Our client is a fast-growing, luxury collections of hotels and serviced apartment owner with multiple assets under its belt. Due to their recent transformation of the business, they are going through a new phase of expansion and is looking for a new addition of Head of Commercial Strategy. This role will be based in Hong Kong, reporting into the senior management of the business and oversee the group’s overall revenue management, distribution channels, development and commercial strategies.

 

Overall Responsibilities:

  • To manage the Sales & Marketing Department and provide overall direction and guidance on development and commercial strategies
  • To work closely with serviced apartments and hotels’ General Managers to identify and develop sales strategies in order to maximize revenue generations and channels
  • Lead the group business to meet its financial objectives as well as managing commercial strategies of the hotel
  • Identifies future revenue opportunities and effectively communicates strategies to the sales organization.
  • Maximize revenue and profit associated primarily with rooms, but also function space or total hotel revenue as required. Position is accountable for transient, group and catering segments strategy and deployment, pricing, channel distribution, and positioning.
  • Oversee revenue management, forecasting, inventory management
  • Align sales strategies and coordinate between hotel levels and corporate levels
  • Communicates hotel direction to revenue management, sales and hotel leaders.
  • Take lead on hotel's budgeting, development, sales & marketing
  • Oversees the annual pricing process for transient, group and catering rooms, function space and other areas as required.
  • Proactively analyzes and communicates business trends and booking pace in comparison to the market, last year, forecast and budget.
  • Maintains deep awareness of current and future competitors, for example but not limited to, product, published offers/pricing, renovation plans, inventory, etc.
  • Ensures that sales strategies, inventory adjustments, and rate restrictions are implemented by the Revenue Manager and modified as market conditions fluctuate.
  • Provides targeted and timely communication of results, achievements and challenges to the stakeholders.

 

Requirements

  • Degree holder or above in Hotel Management, Hospitality or other relevant disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of Revenue Management experience within hotel industry, ideally with minimum 3 years of above experience in leadership position
  • Relevant experience gained from corporate level or from overseeing multiple hotels
  • Strong strategic, analytical and forecasting skills.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese is essential
