Job Description

To help achieve our objectives and to cope with our rapid fleet and business expansion, we are inviting high caliber individuals with a strong and solid aviation technical background to join our renowned Hong Kong based Engineering Team.


The Engineering Data Governance section is responsible for maintaining the data integrity including configuration setup, data standards definition, surveillance and audit of data and process.
Reporting to the Engineering Data Governance Manager, the job holder is accountable for setting up the aircraft configuration models and standards for Cathay and customer fleets, identifying and implementing the business improvement opportunities and carrying out audit of the data standard manual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up aircraft configuration of new aircraft/engine types when they are introduced into CX, KA and AHK fleets
  • Responsible for maintaining up-to-date aircraft configuration models, including review of technical data (aircraft manuals, AEO/SB/AD) and initiate Aircraft/engine configuration model change
  • Resolve system level data conflict issues and liaise with Engineering Planning, Technical Services and Inventory Management for corrective actions
  • Investigate and setup major spare part/component interchangeability relationship and “suitable for fit” information ensuring these are satisfactorily established
  • Ensure new aircraft/engine are correctly populated prior to enter into service
  • Maintain and keep Component Acceptance Data Standard (CADS) up-to-date to reflect sections’ data requirements on respective components
  • Regularly review and evaluate data surveillance reports for discrepancy and non-compliance data
    Conduct Data and Process audit as per audit schedule or as required
  • Capture and report any data/process integrity concerns through the Data Integrity Action Report system
  • Investigate and analyze any abnormality and coordinate remedial actions with associated parties to pursue the best Engineering solution
  • Ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented and produce expected results
  • Assist senior engineer in managing cross functional business improvement projects
  • Conduct regular audit of the data integrity and business process

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years experience in aircraft engineering, preferably some experience in aircraft configuration control
  • Sound presentation, analytical and negotiation skills
  • Proactive, able to work under own initiative and change oriented
  • Excellent teamwork, collaboration and communication skills with strong influencing capabilities
  • Excellent command in spoken & written English
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
