This intermediate-level position assists management by coordinating material development and pre- production activities promptly and effectively, in accordance with deadlines set up by the business.

• Manage the material development to bulk production process for the business, working with key business partners in overseas Design offices and other Sourcing teams
• Ensure all material development activities (including lab dips, strike offs, salesman samples) are followed strictly to the calendar, working with relevant stakeholders throughout the process
• Provide knowledge and guidance on materials to the business teams
• Track development and production samples and make they are received on time and at the right quality
• Solid experience to deal with offshore vendors and proactively to communicate with them for all sampling development & production follow up, including all required testing
• Capacity planning during production to ensure on time delivery
• Prepare supplier performance reports to manage business expectations and product delivery
• Proactive in price negotiation and sourcing of suppliers to meet requirements, conduct cost analysis
• Participate in and help drive process improvements

 Requirements:

• At least 5 years merchandising experience, preferable in bags/textiles/fashion/consumer goods
• Sound knowledge and experience handling accessories/apparel/footwear fabric materials
• Good knowledge on fashion focus materials for bags and luggage, particularly synthetic materials
• Able to review product and suggest alternative options for costing and technical purposes
• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, in English and Cantonese. Mandarin is also an additional preference.
• Strong mulitasker that can handle a wide scope on tight deadlines
• Self motivared and able to work under pressure and be focused
• Excellent interpersonal skill, able to build trust and cohesive working relationship with team members and other functions/stakeholders
• Possess flexible, open and positive mindset
• Extremely well organised with a keen eye for details
• Competent in managing relationships with suppliers and internal business partners
• Intermediate-advanced user of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel (pivot, etc)
• Ideally bachelor's degree in Fashion, Textile or Manufacturing
