System Developer

We have an opening for a capable, motivated System Developer to coordinate and implement the development and maintenance of our internal and external infrastructure and web applications. Job Highlights

• Development and maintenance of core internet infrastructure systems
• Administration of internal systems and network
• Working experience in a systems development, networking and/or systems administration valued
• Solid experience in Linux/Windows Server

Responsibilities

• Development and management of the configuration and operation of system servers, databases and applications
• Deployment and administration of file / email / web servers
• Maintaining in-house systems, office network and externally hosted systems and databases
• Develop and maintain system monitoring, backup/recovery, system security measures and processes
• Maintain documentation for operating procedures related to the role
• Manage and liaise with partners, vendors and system integrators

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Developer, Systems / Network Administrator or similar role
• Associate or higher degree in a related field
• Holder of professional network certifications would be an advantage
• Solid experience in Linux/Windows Server, Apache, Nginx, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SendMail/Postfix/SMTP, TrixBox/VoIP, etc.
• Experience with VMware, Docker and/or other server virtualization technologies.
• Working knowledge of shell and other script for backup and recovery procedures, system monitoring, load-balancing, antivirus, and mail server administration etc.
• Knowledge and experience with PHP, Python scripting is an advantage
• Knowledge of Internet networking technologies, Internet addressing, and Domain Name System (DNS)
• Technical knowledge of the Domain Names Industry is a PLUS advantage (Domain Name registry operations, the registry-registrar model and protocol, TLD zone files, IDNs, DNSSEC, etc.)
• Strong problem solving & good interpersonal and communication skills. Self-motivated.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English.
