Job Description

KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER OFFICE

The Knowledge Transfer Office serves as the bridge between the University and the community for the transfer of knowledge, technology, expertise, skills and capabilities in campus-wide disciplines. The office actively protects and commercialises intellectual property rights (IPR) developed at the University, runs the Business Entrepreneurship Support & Training programme, and supports knowledge transfer activities undertaken by Faculties and Departments in the University.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the “Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities” (TSSSU) funding scheme including recruitment, vetting, budget monitoring and reporting;
  • Provide support and lean startup training to HKBU spin-off companies;
  • Promote innovation, technology transfer and entrepreneurship at HKBU;
  • Assist in entrepreneurship development activities of the Office;
  • Liaise with internal and external bodies;
  • Prepare reports;
  • Provide supportive leadership to the implementation of the Research Matching Grant (RMG) Scheme via entrepreneurship, spin-offs and knowledge transfer;
  • Perform other duties as assigned; and
  • Occasional business travel is required.

Requirements:

  • A good Bachelor’s degree, preferably a higher degree, in Science, Business, Communication or related disciplines;
  • At least five years of work experience with proven track records in entrepreneurship education, event organisation, business development or technology commercialisation;
  • Experience in dealing with government startup funding projects would be an advantage;
  • A good team player who is mature, meticulous and careful, and has a sense of ownership for work;
  • Able to work independently and provide advice to senior management;
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • Good command in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua is preferred.

Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of Project Officer.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
