Job Description

COMPANY REQUIREMENTS

 

MaCher produces a wide variety of GWPs and higher valued Promotional Items designed locally by our in-house design teams and then manufactured overseas. These can include Gift Boxes, Packaging and fashion items such as Bags, Totes, Tins, Candles and Electronic items.

 

Job Profile:

 

Supporting the US and Australian Operational teams on the ground in China for any duties relating to sourcing new suppliers, relationship management, quoting prices, product development, problem solving and QC management in the Northeast region of China.

 

Territory:

 

Based in Shanghai or Zhejiang County (Hangzhou, Ningbo), with a wide range of travel required, mostly in the Northeast region of China (Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Hubei, Henan, Hebei).

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Merchandising / Supply Chain Management

 

  • Build strong relationships with the MaCher teams and the suppliers.
  • Work closely with the Teams to manage specific projects.
  • Working with suppliers to make sure they meet MaCher’s Audit requirements and Local Laws.
  • Manage quality control issues or delivery delays.  Work with the team to plan solutions.
  • Review DPI & PSI reports when necessary.  Be onsite during inspections when required.
  • Review Pre-production/Production samples to make sure they are correct for certain orders.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to meet quality, product consistency, delivery and cost goals.
  • Understand the global regulations for product safety, social responsibility and supply chain security and work with suppliers to make sure they are following all the legal rules.
  • Visit Trade Shows and highlight new trends to the Global MaCher teams.

 

Sourcing

 

  • Sourcing new suppliers.
  • Working with the Sourcing Manager to help find new product categories in certain areas of China.
  • Help to qualify new factories.
  • Working with new factories to help them manage first time orders.
  • Share new production techniques and machinery with the MaCher teams.

 

Reporting

 

  • Calendar of planned work to be sent on a weekly basis to US and Australian teams.
  • Weekly update of factory visits and work completed to be sent to US and Australian teams.
  • Case studies to be sent to the MaCher teams for feedback and outlining learnings.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in dealing with China-based manufacturing supply chain.
  • A proven track record in production risk management.
  • Understanding of materials, construction and the manufacturing process.
  • Flexibility in handling a variety of assignments under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent negotiation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Stationed in Northern China
  • Extensive travel is required.
  • Must have great time management skills.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and verbal).
  • Full PC knowledge required and ability to use MS office to a high level.
