Description

Providing general in-house legal advice and manage external legal resources as well as actively control and manage legal risks within the Elekta Group at an acceptable level.

Responsibilities

Assist and support Region Asia Pacific and all operations in Asia Pacific as Legal Counsel, work with the Managing Senior Counsel and other legal counsels on legal issues faced by the Elekta Group and in particular on issues arising in Asia Pacific. The work includes the following:

1.  To be a service function providing legal services for all entities within the Elekta Group. This includes the managing of internal and external resources and managing purchasing of external services.
2. Together with the Compliance department to survey and control compliance within the Group.
3. To manage legal risk for the Group at an acceptable level, which shall include, but not be limited to:
   • Purchasing functions
   • Sales and distribution functions
   • Finance solution function
   • Product development function
   • Human Resources function
   • Intellectual propert
   • Corporate complianc
4. To manage potential and actual conflicts and support major business development issues. This shall include, but not be limited to:
   • Negotiation support for major contracts
   • Project support for legal issues in connection with acquisitions/divestitures/restructuring
   • Managing disputes and settlement negotiations
5. Function does not have responsiblity for legal issues related to quality and regulatory affairs, but supports this function if necessary.
6. General support in business affairs, processes and global and regional business initiatives.
7. Providing inhouse legal and compliance trainings in Asia Pacific.
8. Overall, global responsibility for all legal issues within Asia Pacific.

REQUIREMENTS

• Good quality law degree from University.
• At least 5 years’ experience in practicing law within a reputable medium to large law firm or as an in-house counsel in a medium to larger company, preferably in a multinational cooperation.
• Integrity and diplomacy.
• High standard of interpersonal skills and team player.
• Business acumen.
• Independent with the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
• High efficiency and tolerance to stress.
• Excellent English skills is a requirement.
• Tolerance to regular travel.
