Job Description

Established in 2009, Hong Kong Green Building Council (“the Council”) is the leading body, co-founded by four major construction industry and environmental organisations, driving the market transformation towards green and sustainable buildings in Hong Kong through engagement with the industry, the government and broader community.

HKGBC is expanding its secretariat team in line with its positioning as Hong Kong's leading member-based body dedicated to green building development, with opening for the post of Assistant Manager – Accounts:

 

Key Roles:

  • Manage the accounting team for timely monthly and yearly financial accounts and statutory reporting
  • Responsible for planning, reviewing and monitoring daily operations of accounting team.
  • Responsible for supervising accounting staff for managing full set of accounts.
  • Responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, budgetary control analysis, report preparation for other department units.
  • Consolidate financial statements and provide budget analysis for management review and business decision.
  • In charge of treasury functions including cash flow forecast, monitor bank operations and accounts, bank reconciliations.
  • Formulate, execute and review accounting policies and procedures aligned with business operation.
  • As a gate keeper to ensure proper implementation of the Procurement Policy and Delegated Authority approved by the Board.
  • Handle tax computation, oversee annual statutory & ad-hoc audit, and answer auditors' enquiries.
  • Review accounting control system and department systems to improve processes and procedures.
  • Attend to annual insurance renewal and arrange ad-hoc insurance when required.
  • Act as the secondary custodian of original documents and maintain the related retention system and records.
  • Overall support to the Head of Finance and Administration
  • Any other duties as assigned by Executive Director of HKGBC or his delegate

 Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Accountancy or related discipline
  • Minimum five years’ relevant experience in accounting works
  • Independent, well organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • A fast learner with logical thinking
  • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Good command of English and Chinese
  • Proficient in using MS-Office, Excel, and knowledge of FlexSystem will definitely be an advantage
