Job Description

The position of Assistant Vice President, Corporate Security is responsible for coordinating all physical security related matters for the HKEX Group. The incumbent is responsible for the following key functions:

  • Discharge corporate security tasks and conduct quality control inspection on security service provider(s) at all locations globally to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee assigned security guards in the area of assignment to ensure comprehensive delivery of security services and sound vendor management & oversight.
  • Attend to local and regional administrative requirements such as budgeting, billing issues, headcount review, vendor dealings and various other administrative demands from the department.
  • Establish appropriate levels of liaison with the local lines of business, senior management and external agencies to ensure all security risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with other support functions (Human Resources, Events Management, Corporate Communications,  Corporate Services).
  • Implement measures to protect assets of HKEX group, staff and visitors.
  • Handle and investigate security related incidents, and compile incident reports.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To discharge HKEX group corporate security in Hong Kong and globally to meet respective jurisdictional security requirements.
  • To handle security related incidents in Hong Kong reported by staff and to compile the incident reports.
  • To conduct inspection on security services provider in Hong Kong and globally to ensure the service quality provided meets the specified requirements.
  • Provide operational and tactical expertise to ensure consistent and comprehensive delivery of security and safety operations in the area of assignment.
  • Assist in investigation of issues of criminal acts and code of conduct.
  • Implement policies, standards, procedures and awareness to mitigate physical security risk ensuring consistent delivery of security operations across HKEX.
  • Support senior management by identifying safety and security risks and ensuring the smooth continuance of business functions during a disaster or other crisis.
  • To review and implement preventive measures to protect the HKEX group assets and employees properties are protected from theft or losses.
  • Execute any other duties or projects as directed by VP Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). 

Job Requirements:       

  • A diploma in a relevant discipline (criminology, law, security, risk management, safety management).
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in a similar corporate/ military/ law enforcement.
  • Membership of recognized industry groups & bodies (ASIS, ACSG, The Security Institute) and an established network amongst security professionals in the region.
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with good interpersonal and organizing skills.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in safety, security and crisis management theory and organizational planning, co-ordination, and execution.
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures in Hong Kong.
  • Knowledge of emergency response planning & execution, crisis management, disaster recovery operations and business continuity awareness.
  • In addition, knowledge of the conduct of investigations, including interview techniques, reporting, collection of evidence and relevant legal requirements.
  • Experience in executive protection, conference and event security.
  • Effective reading, writing and oral communication skills.
  • Comprehensive computer skills (inclusive of a good understanding of all Microsoft applications).
  • Able to resolve problems and make decisions
