Maggie & Rose is a family lifestyle brand, with the first family members' club established in London in September 2006.  It has 2 sites in London and is a becoming a high-end international brand with branches open in China and Singapore.  We provide a home away from home for families, run amazingly creative classes and put on the best kid’s birthday parties ever. With all that on the go, we're on the lookout for energetic and passionate individuals for our clubs in Repulse Bay and Causeway Bay. Maggie & Rose is THE family member’s club with awesome class activities for children.

We need outgoing, creative, entertaining, and reliable teachers to join our team. This is a diverse role where no two days are ever the same.

Role: Class Teacher

You will be responsible for delivering our art, music, cooking and creative play classes. Our innovative, educational, and lively classes take little people on big adventures. 

Priorities: 

You will work with children from 6 months up to eight years old and their parents. The classes require lots of giggles, energy, and fun for all involved. The activities involve a mixture of singing, art, role play, dancing, cooking and games. When not in the classroom, you will assist with events, birthday parties as well as doing administrative tasks.

Key Tasks:

  • Ensure all classes are of a very high standard. 
  • Be ‘the face’ of all classes that you teach for members and staff, upholding the Maggie & Rose ethos and values.
  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be prepared and an organised teacher; fully planning and understanding lesson plans, ensuring you have all the equipment/ingredients/materials for your lessons, as well as adding your own ideas to extend activities. 
  • Take good care of your teaching space/kitchen ensuring that it’s tidy, safe and clean at all times.
  • Keep on top of re-ordering supplies and replenishing anything that is broken or needs replacing. You must look ahead of lesson plans and ensure you have all the ingredients/materials and props you need for the term you are about to teach. 
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for participants in your class. 
  • Make imaginative use of ingredients/materials and be productive with your ideas and approach. 
  • Updating and adding notes to lesson plans to keep the classes current and fresh as well as keeping photographic records of your set up and work. 
  • Noticing children’s progress in your classes and advising when it’s time for them to move up to a more advanced class. 
  • Having the ability to assess a difficult situation in the classroom and solve it in a calm and professional manner. 
  • Participate in staff meetings and communicate well with the team. 
  • Assist in the planning and organising of the teaching timetable, class scheduling, prepping and promotion of term classes and holiday camps and classes. 
  • Take interest in all other aspects of the club.
  • Assist in club events, parties and seasonal activities.  
  • Take pride in everything you do and show strong leadership skills in class.
  • Understand the key words and phrases that should be used throughout your classes.
  • Make sure you are fully aware of health & safety and fire procedures, where your nearest first aid box, accident book is and what the right protocols are in certain situations such as fires or accidents. 

Skills and Experience:

A Maggie & Rose teacher must be a super creative, insanely enthusiastic and incredibly organised team member, able to deliver unique arts classes and following the Maggie & Rose core values:

  • You’ll be able to perform and produce magical, creative and innovative classes for children of all ages. 
  • You should have knowledge of nursery rhymes and basic art to do well in this role. 
  • If you’ve got some experience in customer services and teaching that would be an advantage too. 
  • Good knowledge and love for cooking as well as an understanding of food health and hygiene.
  • Experience working with children, especially pre-school age groups. 
  • You’ll be super confident with the ability to interact with both adults and children. 
  • You’ll have a strong speaking voice, good singing voice and above all a happy disposition and super positive attitude. 
  • Some weekend and public holiday work required
