Engineer (Ref. 19041102-E2)

Duties

The appointee will join the Technical Services Stream and be required to:

(a) integrate new technologies into teaching and learning activities of the Centre;

(b) undertake hands-on learning and teaching activities at degree and sub-degree levels including supervision of student projects;

(c) assist in teaching and learning programme planning, design and administration, as well as preparation of hands-on learning, student projects and teaching materials;

(d) provide professional support in R&D and consultancy activities;

(e) supervise daily operation and maintenance of workshops; and

(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director, Industrial Centre or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline;

(b) at least five years of work experience in product/system development, various manufacturing processes and project supervision; and

(c) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, and fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.

Preference will be given to those with hands-on experience in mechatronic and/or prototyping.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
