About the role

ITEC, Nexperia’s in-house equipment & solution provider, develops, supplies and services world’s fastest pick & place equipment and testers for (discrete) semiconductors. ITEC equipment and solutions play an important role in the roadmap towards cost leadership in Nexperia’s assembly and test sites in Asia.

Inspection in various stages of the processes is key. We need a principal software engineer to optimize the current vision solutions and start working on the latest technologies like Artificial Intelligence – machine learning – deep learning for our future equipment. This makes ITEC a very challenging environment for you as principal software engineer. In the meantime you work with the latest software tools.

What you will do

In this exciting position, your responsibilities include amongst others:

• Responsible for software development and management of vision inspection system and specific applications;
• Explore new vision technologies and transform into industrial solutions;
• Translate customer requirements into design specification, design the software including simulators, GUI and test procedures
• Test and document the designed solutions and related results;
• Introduce & release the solution(s) in assembly sites according to plan and follow through to full completion and acceptance;
• Work closely with customers to drive for system enhancement and optimization;
• Big Data analysis on data from the production systems;
• Provide training to users.

What you will need

• MSc/BSc in Computer Science or Engineering;
• Minimum 10 years experience in software engineering, background in motion control, visual inspection or industrial automation in general is a big plus;
• Innovative, experience and knowledge in Semiconductors testing will be an advantage;
• Strong programming skills in C#, C++, VB.net, VB script, SQL, GUI design & machine automation;
• Good analytical & debugging skill in system support;
• Solid experience in software project planning and project management;
• Passion for Artificial Intelligence is a pre;
• Good communication & interpersonal skill, able to deliver results through determination and team work;
• Well organized, self-motivated, can work independently under pressure;
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Putonghua will be an advantage;
• Willing to travel.

About the team

You will be part of the ITEC Vision Solutions team. You work together with 3 other software professionals, a Project Manager, a Field Service Engineer and a Mechanical Engineer, all working on the Vision solutions for inspection in the semiconductor assembly processes. The total number of software engineers in the ITEC Hong Kong organization is 10.

ITEC Vision Solutions is part of ITEC Operations, a team of approx. 40 people, all located in the Hong Kong office.
