With the investments we’ve made and growth in the firm, now is the time to be at XY Capital and we are looking for a strong candidate to join our software development team. We seek a candidate with the experience in providing day-to-day operational support to prevent business disruption. This candidate will also be assisting with the design and development of new trading algorithms. This role will report to a Senior Developer and will be a core member of the XY Capital staff as we continue to grow and scale.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to all levels of the SDLC as we develop software to support our trading operations
• Help coordinate various software development efforts across the company
• Collaborate with traders to understand and anticipate trading technologies needed
• Document software performance and proactively optimize as needed
• Provide support to end users as needed
• Ad hoc projects

Requirements: 

• Degree holder in Computer Science or equivalent
• 1 to 3 years working experience in finance, algorithmic trading preferred, but is not a must
• Experience in one of Java/Scala/C#/Rust/Python
• Proficiency in C++11/14/17 would be a plus
• Experience in using high performance messaging bus such as ZMQ, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ
• Experience in developing on the Linux platform with libraries such as BOOST and STL would be a plus
• Experience with revision control tools such as Git
• Good knowledge of SQL based RDBMS
• Ability to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment
• Good command of spoken and written English
• New graduates will also be considered

Preference for: 

• Knowledge in FIX/OUCH/ITCH/SBE protocol
• Knowledge in NoSQL database is also a plus: Mongo, KDB+, Redis, Timescale, Cassandra
• Familiarity with Agile development using CI/CD tools such as GitLab/Jenkins/CircleCI
• Background in electronic trading at a prop firm or hedge fund company
