Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The person is responsible for application development and maintenance especially on module with high complexity and impact. The person needs to keep abreast with the latest technology on web/mobile/cloud development and familiar with agile development methodology.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible in the design and coding of key components of the applications and system interfaces especially on modules with high complexity and impact.
- Participate in business requirement capturing and analysis work.
- Perform technical feasibility evaluation
- Perform effort estimation of work items.
- Perform data and object modelling, and contribute to technical design documentation
- Collaborate with other team members to design and implement features.
- Perform code review, unit tests, system integration tests and coordinate user acceptance tests
- Conduct application performance tuning
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- Deliver code meeting acceptance criteria and within timeline.
- Continuously learn new skills and improve skills.
- Minimum 5 years experience in application development preferably on Agile Methodology
- Experience in developing cloud based enterprise low-latency, high-availability and performant applications
- Solid experience in front-end / server-side / Java Development
Education
- Degree holder in Computer Science or any related disciplines
Skills / Competencies
- Good analytical, problem solving and organizing skills
- Hands-on programming skills in web technology (at least 3 of the following) : Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Node.js, Express.js, Angular.js, jQuery
- Hands-on advance programming experience Knowledge in: Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, SOAP and RESTful APIs development, WebSocket, socket.io, AJAX, JSON and Bootstrap
- Working knowledge of Linux system administration and developing database applications (e.g. MySQL)
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tool, such as Git
- Prior experience in Microservice solutions, AWS, DevOps, JUnit, JMeter, Jenkins, Docker, Kafka, Eureka or NoSQL solutions would be an added advantage
- Willing to learn, proactive and a good team player
- Good command in English
