Department of Social Work

The Department invites job applications under the project “Development and evaluation of the effectiveness of an online cognitive behavioral intervention program for Hong Kong people with social anxiety disorder”. The project aims at developing an online counselling programme to help Hong Kong adults with social anxiety disorder to improve their mental health. A study will also be conducted to evaluate the programme effectiveness.

The appointee will be responsible for program design, development and testing, as well as system migration to web application. He/She is expected to provide technical support to the mental health professional and clients in using the online program, and monitoring data security. The appointee will be affiliated to the Department of Computer Science under Faculty of Science.

Applicants should (i) have a Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or related discipline; (ii) possess practical experience in web and mobile (iOS/Android) application development; (iii) be familiar with virtual reality application development tools such as Unity and Unreal; (iv) have excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English; (v) be innovative and proactive when working with a team.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one to two years commencing July 2019. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.    

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
