Objective:

The Head of Technical Services is responsible for spearheading the engineering and technical services functions in supporting the operations. He/ She will provide leadership and develop strategy for technical services and engineering including implementation of company-wide policies, standards, and best practices for improving existing operations, new product development projects, and M&A target evaluation.

The Role:

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the company’s engineering and technical services function
• Provide support to various factories and teams on all technical matters
• Act as the center of excellence in providing technical leadership and guidance
• Collaboration with R&D to introduce new materials and up to date technology processes.
• Oversee the design and engineering planning activities, manage and coordinate the work and resources among work groups.
• Oversee the evaluation of new components in accordance with design specification and in coordination with purchasing and quality assurance departments.
• Establish product design reviews with the aim of simplifying the manufacturing operations, reducing manufacturing cost and enhancing product standardization.
• Establish credibility throughout organization and with the leadership team as an effective problem solver; be viewed as approachable and as a mentor on technical issues

The Person:

• Minimum 15 years of engineering leadership experience gained at precision machining or related environment
• Familiar with stainless steel and metallurgy and process design; watch case manufacturing experience will be added advantage, but not a must
• PHD in electrical or mechanical engineering or related discipline
• Professional project management designation desirable
• Strong problem solving and communication skills
• Stationing in Zhongshan is required
