GBSL is looking for a young and dynamic person to set up its Merchandising Dept. The candidate must have past merchandising and product handling experience in Hard Lines. The candidate will be responsible to set up all merchandising activities in the HK office from Product to Delivery, and end to end accountability in the business.
Independent and focused performance capabilities will be primary expectation form the candidate.
The Candidate shall be a part of the core team involved in Client Servicing, Business Development, Vendor Development, Product Development and Business Relations with Clients and Vendors in all regions.
Understanding of the Mainland China Trade, Product Knowledge & Vendors Connections is an added advantage to the candidate selection. Ability to multi-task, learn, and grow with the organization, understanding the needs of the clients will be a key success factor.
The candidate shall be expected to handle the following broad functions
o Business Development
o Client/ Buyer Servicing
o Vendor Assessment and Identification
o Product Development
o Tender and Price assessment across all clients and business
o Price and Negotiations
o Sampling & Approval process
o Order Management – end to end
o Quality & Inspection Planning and Management end to end
o Delivery Efficiency & Planning
o Order Tracking and Execution
o Vendor Ratings
o Banking and Payment Management from buyer and of Vendors
o Key Office Management decisions
o All Actions above shall always be supported by a process and reporting system on Daily, Weekly and Monthly systems as advised and set up by the management
You will be expected to travel to Mainland China, meet clients, visit and assess vendors and factories. As required the candidate may be required to travel to other regions for business development, vendor relations, client servicing etc.
You shall also be a member of the Core Strategy Team of GBSL and will be also responsible to plan and work closely with the Top Management in areas of
