Job Description

FACILITIES MANAGEMENT OFFICE

Assistant Facilities Officer (Campus Control) (Ref. 19041614-E14)

Duties

The appointee will report to the Client Services Section and be required to:

(a) provide routine facilities management service to all on-campus and/or off-campus premises including teaching venues and public area;

(b) manage the Campus Control Centre and supervise the security guards on their day-to-day work;

(c) monitor the progress and quality of work performed by both contractors and in-house staff and report defects/irregularities;

(d) assist in the management of carpark in accordance with the Campus Traffic and Parking Regulations, perform traffic control and arrange escort service to VIPs;

(e) ensure the proper locking/unlocking of rooms and building entrances;

(f) monitor and handle emergency/irregular situations;

(g) handle enquiries and make referrals to appropriate sections/units/departments for follow-up;

(h) provide retrieval service and lost property registration as well as handle enquiries for lost property within the campus;

(i) provide necessary support to all major events held at the University;

(j) perform shift duties including working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when necessary; and

(k) handle any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised certificate in Building, Building Services, Facilities Management or a related discipline;

(b) relevant work experience preferably in supervisory positions;

(c) sound knowledge of the relevant discipline in facilities management industry;

(d) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably with fluency in Putonghua;

(e) good communication and interpersonal skills; and

(f) sound knowledge of basic office computer software including MS Word and Excel, with experience in using other computer softwares such as AutoCAD being an advantage.

Preference will be given to those with the knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
