Requirements:  

1. BA/BS in material science (polymerization areas, colloidal gold, quantum dots technologies) or similar area and 8+ years of relevant industrial experience with demonstrated progressively increasing responsibility or MA/MS in life sciences plus at least 5 years’ relevant experience (PhD in life sciences plus at least 2 years’ relevant experience)
2. Working experience with emulsion polymerization or fluorescent materials is a plus
3. Success in mentoring and directing the work of other R&D employees
4. Strong, demonstrated project management skills
5. Strong experimental design capabilities in product development and assay optimization.
6. Experience in identifying and resolving product and assay performance issues.
7. Success in leading complex technical projects components across various departments.
8. Experience developing regulated products (FDA, ISO, etc.) is a plus.
9. Strong problem solving capabilities.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Background in chemistry, polymer material, emulsion polymerization, living/radical polymerization, colloidal gold synthesis, quantum dots synthesis or related field
• Able to resolve complex technical problems independently
• Plans and executes experiments and research activities
• Expert knowledge of scientific principles, concepts, analytical problem solving skills
• Expert in product development and experimental design. Able to plan and manage projects to: Prove feasibility; Develop new processes and set specifications; Characterize materials and set specifications;   Troubleshoot problems
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
