Job Description
CHINESE MAINLAND AFFAIRS OFFICE
Development Manager (Ref. 19041207-E2)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide management and administrative support to the operations and the services offered at the Regional Bases of the University and to render necessary support for their sustainable development;
(b) provide supervision and coaching to the staff at the Regional Bases;
(c) liaise with local partners/stakeholders and build effective networks to facilitate the University's development in the Chinese mainland;
(d) develop new initiatives to advance the University's strategic interests in the Chinese mainland; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his/her delegates.
Frequent travel to the Chinese mainland and working on irregular hours including evenings, Saturdays and Sundays will be required.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree;
(b) have at least five years of post-qualification solid supervisory experience in related areas of work;
(c) demonstrate creativity, flexibility, agility and professionalism in his/her work;
(d) have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese), and excellent presentation skills;
(e) have good computer literacy, including PowerPoint and Chinese word processing;
(f) be a seasonal marketer and well-versed in the application of various social media platforms in the Chinese mainland; and
(g) be willing to work outside normal office hours and travel extensively.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
