Our client has been expanding rapidly on a global basis over the last few years both organically into new markets and via mergers & acquisitions. As a key player in their industry, they continue to strive for market domination and to be recognized as the pre-eminent leader in the professional and financial services sector. As a result, they are now seeking a high caliber incumbent to lead their in-house M&A team.

Reporting directly to the Group CFO and the Executive Management team, this role will be instrumental in leading a small team for the following:

• Identifying and originating potential M&A targets in the industry to meet corporate goals and objectives
• Leading the team on the full spectrum of due diligence, financial modelling, negotiation and execution of all deals
• Managing the post-acquisition integrations of deals, ensuring good cultural integration, standardization of processes and adoption of best practices
• Work alongside the senior leadership team, private equity owners and all other internal and external stakeholders of the business
• Preparation of compelling business cases and presentation to the management team

Suitable candidates will have the following:

• Qualified ACA or equivalent accounting qualification and have the technical expertise to build cash projections and apply proper accounting treatments to transactions
• Ideally a Big 4 training background followed by 10+ years of experience in an in-house commercial multinational corporation with global operations
• Confidence and executive gravitas to influence and work with senior stakeholders, investors, bankers, lawyers and other third party professionals
• Strong communication skills, fluency in English, and other Chinese languages will be a distinct advantage
• Experience of working in a global multinational ideally in a complex matrix organsiation that is dynamic and has lots of change
• Hands-on in-house M&A and corporate finance experience at a global level including in Asia Pacific, Europe and the US
• Strong project management skills to drive changes and take full responsibility and ownership for completion of transactions
• High level of commercial acumen and the innate ability to problem solve and action successful results
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
