Job Description

ESTATES OFFICE

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Estates (Building Services and Systems), the appointee will be responsible for leading a project team to perform electrical and mechanical project management duties for capital projects together with campus renovation/improvement works of the University. His/her major duties include managing the key building services deliverables from inception to completion of projects, liaising with other team members, user departments, consultants, contractors, statutory bodies and public utilities companies, identifying technical and design deficiencies of building services systems, providing professional support for system installation and supervising systems commissioning and performance testing.  He/She will also participate in providing technical input to campus energy conservation/carbon footprint reduction projects and preparing technical reports and budget proposals. He/She will be required to undertake other duties appropriate to the level as assigned by seniors.

Applicants should possess a recognised university degree in Building Services/Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of eight years of relevant work experience and be a full member of HKIE/CIBSE or equivalent. He/She should be familiar with the building services design, the statutory submission requirements and Codes of Practice and experienced in computer-aided design (AutoCAD). Applicants should also be self-motivated with good communication and language skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese, have the ability to work under pressure and be a good team player. Experience in managing government-funded capital/improvement projects is an advantage. 

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years.  Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
