Job Description

The appointee is required to be involved in managing the School of Management of the College and make significant contribution in programme validation, strategy development, operation and quality assurance programme in teaching and learning. He/she should work in partnership with other senior staff and external agencies including relevant public, private and statutory bodies. Reporting to the Vice President (Academic) / School Dean, the appointee will be a key member of the College’s senior management team and will work closely with the team to advance the School in achieving its mission of quality education, excelling in research and scholarly activities, and supporting the College to become a private university in the long run. 

Applicants should possess a PhD degree or equivalent Doctoral qualification in Health Service Management, Nursing or Allied Health Management/ Administration or other related discipline and  significant practices/ involvements in Health Services Management or other Health-related Management/Administration; a valid professional qualification/ membership/ certificate in relevant discipline, if appropriate; at least 10 years (for Professor) or 7 years (for Associate Professor) of substantial relevant experience in teaching in the tertiary education sector, strong track records in programme design, development, and leadership in taking up the role of a Programme Leader; a proven track record of outstanding academic/ clinical leadership and be able to lead a full department/ faculty; evidence of outstanding research output in the relevant field(s) with strong research track records and impact; an international reputation in high quality scholarship and research in related disciplines with at least 15 (for Professor) or 10 (for Associate Professor) international refereed journal publications out of which 5 in top-tier scholarly journals; and regular contacts with professional bodies in relevant sector/ industry.  For candidates with less academic experience, a strong track record of practical/ clinical experience in Health Services Management or other Health-related Management/Administration with a substantial experience in teaching/training could also be considered.   Knowledge and/or experience in health information management will be an advantage. 

A concurrent appointment as the Acting Dean of the School might be offered, if appropriate. 

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
