Job Description

To assist the Executive Director in strategic planning, implementation and evaluation and provide students, parents and education practitioners with programmes and services to foster the affective development of the gifted students.

The successful candidate will have a good honours degree in education, psychology and social work, plus a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in related fields. Candidates will be expected to have at least 10 years post-degree work experience in education or social services related to children and/or youth with good working knowledge of the needs of gifted students.

The Academy is a non-profit making organisation set up to provide structured educational services for exceptionally gifted students as well as to support teachers, parents and academics. It will provide off-school learning opportunities for gifted young people aged from 10 to 18 years to enable them to reach their potential in a wide range of specialist areas, including leadership, creativity, personal-social competence, to promote wholeperson development, and to develop their confidence in pursuit of excellence and commitment to serving their community. It will also help to provide guidance to parents of gifted students, as well as training courses for teachers in specialist areas. The Academy will conduct research and development appropriate to sustainable growth and advancement of knowledge in gifted education in Hong Kong.The Academy now invites applications for the following position:
