POSITION STATEMENT

Blue Planet Training, Inc. D/B/A Own The Room seeks a Software Test Manager / Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE) Manager to manage the testing and service delivery infrastructure development and process for our next generation training products.

Software Test Manager

REPORTS TO

Head of Software Engineering

LOCATION

Taikoo Shing, Hong Kong

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand the business and service functionality; define and execute test strategy, alpha/beta/production test plan, test cases and reports
• Capability to understand the big picture – system/application/product and weave in a comprehensive test plan
• Proactively manage test readiness, environments, test data quality, resource alignment to meet business objectives
• Work directly with product managers and software architects/engineers to understand technical and functional system requirements, use cases, and performance considerations
• Write, debug and maintain test scripts, test cases and utilize automation frameworks
• Manage and gate alpha/beta/production stage and deliverables
• Provide post-release testing of production changes
• Communicate effectively the daily status, track progress and manage issue workflow to resolution

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED & PREFERRED

• 5 years’ experience as a test lead or CoE engineer or similar role
• JIRA / Jenkins / Testflight / AWS Device Farm
• iOS / Android mobile app alpha & beta test and publishing
• Web portal alpha & beta test and launching
• Must have the desire for delivering excellence in product quality, and reliability
• Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication, project and time management skills a must
• Must be extremely detail-oriented in regards to verbal and written documentation and communication
• BS/BA in computer science, engineering or business related discipline or equivalent experience desired
• Identification and implementation of continuous improvement in process and standards for the entire team
• Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments, and create deliverables with some direction
• Bonus: DevOps, CI/CD pipeline construction and maintenance
• Bonus: Experience with Agile development methodologies
