Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the New Product Development Program including identifying the materials, DFM, jigs and fixture, manufacturing & testing feasibility and issuing testing protocols.
- Working with the internal Product Designer based in China to consider reliability, safety requirements, manufacturing process, functionality and unit cost.
- Following up samples or working models to be finished as per specification and schedule.
- Technical specification drafting and design verification.
- Provide technical support to purchasing department for alternative component selection
- Follow up pilot run and mass production in China factory or suppliers
- Provide technical supports to QA Department for investigating customer complaints.
- Arranging meetings and liaising with other departments to discuss and negotiate appropriate production processes.
- Presents product designs to the customers for OEM projects.
Requirements:
- Degrees or above in Mechanical Engineering.
- Passion for innovation, developing better products
- 10+ years in mechanical engineering.
- Great sketching skill, strong problem solving ability.
- Proficient in SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite (AI, PS etc)
- Microsoft Office, Rhinoceros, ProE and other 3D CAD software are a plus.
- Familiarity with plastics, metal applications and tooling manufacturing processes.
- Experience working with Chinese manufacturers is a plus
- Good communication skills in English (written/spoken) is a must
- Ability to work under pressure
