Job Description

Introduction

The Sitoy Group is looking to build a retail planning team based in Hong Kong which will be responsible for the retail sales budgeting and merchandise assortment planning of the Group’s portfolio of brands in Hong Kong, China and other markets.

The following candidate will direct the development and presentation of seasonal merchandise financial plans and Open-to-Buy plans, forecasting business based on the Group’s and each Brand’s business strategies, changes in business climate, collaborating closely with key cross-functional partners in providing recommendations to maximise business opportunities and minimise inventory liability.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Retail Planning Team and provide coaching, guidance and training of Retail Planners in their roles;
  • Allocate the team resources to cover the needs of each brand effectively;
  • Establish standardized planning processes, formats and tools to facilitate sound business planning and decision making with the Group’s senior management;
  • Convert Financial Budgets into Retail Calendar Budgets and calculation of seasonal and NOS OTB Budgets;
  • Develop bottom-up sales and inventory plans to validate and tie back to target sales budgets by region and total APAC;
  • Collaborate with brand General Management, Buyers and In-Season Merchandisers with demonstrated ability to operate within a matrix reporting structure;
  • Work with the Buying team to propose sound product categories mix, initial season projections, identify opportunities and risks in the business;
  • Develop pre-season sales, margin and inventory plans that support the Company’s major growth strategies at division, department and item level;
  • Review key business reports every week to ensure effective assortment planning (sell-through analysis, sales-to-stock ratio, inventory holding for NOS, etc.) and develop action plans.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a senior retail planning role with some of that time in a leadership role managing a number of direct reports;
  • Strong product knowledge in premium and luxury segment of the retail industry;
  • Able to demonstrate high level of numeracy;
  • Proven success in driving business growth whilst achieving high sell-through results, high stock-turn, high ROI and other retail KPIs;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as all-round competency with the technical requirements of retail brand management and merchandise planning;
  • A strong knowledge of computer skills including MS Office, especially with Excel and Powerpoint, and merchandise planning systems;
  • Good communication and presentation skills on financial information and business strategies.
