Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive Public Relations/media strategies and initiatives to promote the vision, mission and the role of the Society;
  • Plan, produce and create content for press releases, magazines, newsletters, publications;
  • Seek placements in print, broadcast and online media to engage audiences across traditional and new media;
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests. Respond to media enquiries in a timely and effective manner, including drafting quotes, as directed by the Deputy Director (Strategy and Communications);
  • Act as the Society’s spokesperson on matters of general information;
  • Proactively identify potential crisis issues from different channels, prepare necessary public relations plans for crisis management;
  • Plan and execute Public Relations events and press conferences;
  • Develop tactics and Public Relations plans to support publicity for all key events of the Society;
  • Identify, develop and maintain relationships with celebrities and KOLs in order to seek their support for different initiatives promoting the vision and mission of the Society;
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media;
  • Develop internal communication initiatives to foster internal culture;
  • Manage the Public Relations team, including setting annual budgets, monitor, analyze and report Public Relations results ;
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director (Strategy & Communications).

 

Requirements:

  • Degree holder or above in Business Administration, Marketing Communications and/or related disciplines, with a minimum of 10 years solid experience in marketing communications and Public Relations building corporate image and media relations.
  • Have a full understanding of media needs and media relationships
  • Tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms
  • Must possess excellent strategic thinking, organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a must
  • Be proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to detail
  • Must be a confident communicator and presenter
  • Pleasant and outgoing personality, responsible, self-motivated, independent and quick witted
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Possess the ability to keep information confidential
  • Ability to work in high-stress environments
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
  • Knowledge on animal welfare is an added advantage
