Job Description

Indigo Living & Kids

Indigo Living is a fashionable upscale retailer selling furniture and home accessories as well as baby & child products in the Hong Kong, China and the UAE markets and beyond. We offer an extensive selection of innovative accessories and furniture at competitive prices, whilst maintaining a high quality policy and after sales service. With strong merchandising and product presentation within all stores, each season yields a myriad of new ideas culled from our in-house creative teams. The end goal is to showcase inspired design to show people how to create a personalized expression of themselves.

 

The Role is to:

 

Range Build

  • Curate a Range that is:

o    High Quality

o    Affordable

o    In keeping with the look & feel of Indigo Living

o    Profitable – working to the business targets of GP$/ GP%/ Stock Cover

o    Across all Indigo Living Territories (Currently but not limited to HK, China & Middle East)

 

  • Comp Shop both local and international competitors
  • Presenting the Range Built to the Management team
  • Work to the Buying Critical Path & Seasonal Launches
  • Introduce Exclusive & on-line Exclusive Items
  • Manage the Buying Budget and present for sign off

 

Brand Development

  • Achieve the targets set out by the company for Indigo Living
  • Work with VM to drive the look and feel of the Indigo Stores each season
  • Work with Marketing to drive regular promotion, campaigns & Events to highlight Indigo both Instore & on-line
  • Work with the Online team to drive the look and feel of the Website, ensure correct content and all products are loaded

 

Product Development

  • Develop New & Exclusive Products to for each seasonal launch
  • Bring on board New Suppliers
  • Visit Trade Fair to find new Brands & Suppliers, meet existing suppliers, find out the up & coming
  • New Product Presentations to Mangers for Sign off – in line with the Buying Critical Path
  • Present the New range to the Retail Teams before each launch at the Indigo Product Training Events

 

 

Supplier Management

  • Maintenance and development of grower/supplier relationships
  • Negotiate best price, MOQ and Lead Time
  • Annually / Bi annually Supplier Appraisals
  • Regular supplier meeting & visits
  • Source new suppliers

 

Inventory Control

  • Work with the Merchandisers/ Supply Chain to achieve on time Product Launches – 4 seasonal launches a year – 2 Main Spring & Fall, 2 Capsule Range – Summer &, Winter
  • Maintain Core Product Stock levels throughout the season – to achieve the company targets
  • Manage MOQ’s with Suppliers and Lead Times
  • Aware of the Categories Stock cover & achieving the company targets

 

Person Specification

  • Have a Background & Passion for Lifestyle Products & Product Development 
  • Be a highly competent and efficient administrator 
  • Be able to effectively work in a busy, noisy and high pressured, open plan office environment 
  • Be able to demonstrate a proactive and flexible attitude to work 
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at varying levels both internally and externally including suppliers and customers 
  • Ability to form strong supplier / customer relations
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve problems and where necessary make decisions under pressure
  • Be sufficiently numerate and a clear logical thinker with good analytical skills
  • Be self-motivated
  • Have good time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Be able to work as part of a team as well as independently when required
  • The ability to retain information in order to be "one step ahead" in respect to providing accurate information at short notice.
  • Take ownership of your key areas of responsibility 
  • Possess competent PC skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
