Department: Airline Purchasing
Reports to: Purchasing Manager – Product


The Airline Purchasing Department’s mission is to help the business satisfy the customers’ needs and deliver tangible benefits by continuously improving the strategic management of the supply network.
We are looking for a highly capable professional who will be supporting the purchasing process in the Cathay Ground products categories, which includes Cathay flagship lounges and Dragonair lounge in the Hong Kong International Airport, as well as our worldwide lounges throughout our network.
The successful applicant will implement Cathay Pacific purchasing practices to ensure that we’re sourcing and securing innovative, commercially viable, next generation solutions to create an optimal passenger experience. Furthermore, you will work closely with the Product Teams to source new product solutions as well as develop and implement the category strategy for this category of spend.


Key Responsibilities:

To support the management of all activities in each stage of the purchasing process, including:

  • Support in formulating the procurement strategy.
  • Monitor the supply market that caters to our business needs.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end RFQ, RFI, and RFP process including tender issuance, pricing analysis, vendor evaluation, negotiation, and contract finalization.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible T&Cs and pricing, closing contracts in a timely manner.
  • Establish supplier performance measurements, manage supplier performance and effectively manage commercial relationships to encourage continuous improvements.
  • Track and analyze the spend of each supplier in the category
  • Provide support to the Purchasing Manager and carry out any other relevant duties which may be required.

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Business Administration or equivalent (legal or other professional degree are preferred).
  • Four years relevant experiences in procurement and contracting.
  • Strong negotiation, contracting and supplier management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and presentation skills (orally and in writing).
  • Able to communicate internally and externally at all organization levels.
  • Able to work independently, with good project management skills to delivery results with tight timeline.
  • Knowledge of aviation, interior design and commercial renovation would be an added advantage
    Fluent in English (orally and in writing)
  • Willingness to travel overseas as necessary
