Job Description

Job Purpose

The Sales Associate primary function is generating sales through customer interaction and upholding store standards. Also, to perform operational activities that drives sales (replenishment, recovery, shipment processing, housekeeping etc.) The Sales Associate provides exceptional customer service to maximise sales and ensures customer satisfaction.

 

Customer Service

  • Ensures that the store is delivering the best possible customer experience.
  • Help all customers feel welcome in our stores
  • Provide courteous, helpful customer service throughout the store, including the sales floor, fitting rooms and cash wrap
  • Determine customer needs, assist with outfitting options, feature and benefits of our products
  • Communicate information to our customers about the quality, value and style of Gap products, as well as fit, fabric, price and shrinkage information
  • Use effective communication skills to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Coordinate efforts with other sales associates to ensure all customers receive exceptional service throughout the store

Operations

  • Ensures stockroom and procedures are managed efficiently to support the sales floor and business objectives
  • Optimises sales and controllable contribution – ensures replenishment planning is in line with business requirements
  • Demonstrates an effective and productive team supporting the business and demonstrates that Risk Management is a focus

 

Experience

  • Ability to communicate with staff and customers
  • Ability to manoeuvre around sales floor and stockroom
  • Ability to learn and efficiently process register transactions
  • At least one year retail working experience, fashion and apparel industry is preferred.
  • Customer service, product knowledge and communication skills.

 

Schedule Requirement

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, may require weekends and evening and overnight shifts. 
  • Immediately available is preferable.
