Faculty of Social Science
Assistant Computer Officer (Ref. 190000Z5) (Closing date: May 28, 2019)
The appointee will be responsible for (a) leading the production team to produce videos for positive education programmes; (b) providing professional technical support in IT services and technical support to the programmes, and performing other duties as assigned; (c) managing IT and AV equipment; (d) designing and co-ordinating the production workflows and case videos for positive education programmes; (e) working closely with other teams in the video production process; (f) participating in NAS system support and maintenance to ensure smooth performance for the back-end services; and (g) providing support to website development and maintenance. Irregular working hours (including evenings, weekends and public holidays) will be required occasionally.

Applicants should have (i) a recognised Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Broadcast, Film and TV or related disciplines, or equivalent; (ii) technical knowledge of operating digital video equipment (experience in lighting and shooting on DSLRs and other HD cameras); (iii) experience in IT and video equipment management; (iv) proficiency in editing tools, webpage and design software (e.g. Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audio Audition, Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat on Mac OS); (v) experience in network performance, network security and storage systems (e.g. NAS); (vi) knowledge of MS Office; (vii) the ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines; and (viii) the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a sense of accountability. At least 3 year’s work experience in the media, film and TV industries is preferred. Applicants are welcome to submit their portfolio in the application.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 18 months commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
