Job Description

To assist in carrying out all duties necessary for the successful functioning of Communications Department in the China Office

 

Responsibilities:

  • To support Head of Communications the formulation and implementation of communications strategy, policy and guideline;
  • To explore, establish, engage and maintain long-term network/partnership with local counterparts in China, World Vision’s support offices and general public worldwide via various communications channels to enhance the image of WV in China;
  • To advise National Resources Development Department on related fund-raising activities via online and offline platforms
  • To provide up-to-date trainings to World Vision’s zonal communicators and facilitate capacity building for ADP communicators;
  • To mentor communications subordinates on corporate communications collaterals, such as agency video, annual reports, website content and other ad-hoc printing and production projects;
  • To coordinate among support offices and national office on emergency communications, media, celebrity and donor trips;
  • To oversee and coordinate media interviews upon request, and assist in collecting data, translating/writing/editing stories, photos, maps, photo report and project information to World Vision support offices on a regular or ad hoc basis

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in either Communications, Translation or Journalism
  • 10 years’ work experience with Communication, Translation or Journalism experience in which 3-4 years’ supervisory experience in Communications field is an advantage
  • Experience in child-focused organization in China is preferred, and a good sense on child protection an advantage;
  • Mature, innovative and familiar with online communications tools for publicity, promotion and awareness building Photography and other audio-visual production knowledge are preferred
  • Good communication skills in both written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua) and English
  • Travel to the rural remote areas in the PRC is required
