Purpose of job

Work as part of the operations team to support the trading function of the Caravel Resources unit of the Company, primarily supporting the iron ore/coal business. This role assists General Manager for trade operations to handle the processing of LC documents, payments, contracts along with the issuing of necessary paperwork/reports.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Contract Execution including review payment terms of contract
• Process import and export L/Cs , trade bills transactions including full set of import and expoet shipping documents , verifying settlement calculations including banking fee
• Conduct preliminary or counter-checking of all import & eport documents. Liaise with traders/customers/other operational teams/banks on amendment of L/Cs and documents with discrepancies
• Handle pre-shipment/post-shipment inspection
• Handle balance payments/demurrage/despatch settlement
• Undertake additional functions and duties assigned by General Manager when required
• Prepare Reports including gather & input data, maintain a wide array of data-related business/transaction processes

Education / experience / technical skills required

• Possess a Diploma with minimum 8-10 years’ experience of trading house or banking experience in Trade Finance
• Proficient in UCP 600 rules
• Experience in Commodities Operations is desirable
• Good verbal & written communication skills
• Strong ability to prioritize, work efficiently with minimal supervision and accuratley under pressure in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
• English, Mandarin & Cantonese language skills : Fluent
