Job Description

(1) Assistant Professor - Chinese

 

Duties
Appointees are expected to undertake teaching (including project supervision) of Classical Chinese Literature, Chinese literary criticism and Chinese culture. Other duties include programme administration and course development duties, as appropriate. Appointees will be expected to contribute to extra-curricular activities and develop materials when necessary.

 

 

Requirements
Applicants must have: (a) PhD in Chinese with at least 3 years’ experience at tertiary level; (b) be a Native Cantonese speaker with fluency in Putonghua and good English; (c) have evidence of good feedback on teaching.

 

 

(2) Assistant Professor/Lecturer - English

Duties
Appointees are expected to undertake teaching, project supervision, course administration and course development duties, as appropriate. Appointees will be expected to developing materials and organizing extra-curricular activities when needed.

 

Requirements
Applicants must have PhD in English, preferably in English Linguistics, or related disciplines, with at least 3 years’ experience at tertiary level/ or work experience in relevant fields preferred.

 

 

Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will normally be made on fixed-term contract for one year. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental schemes, where applicable.
